Thank you to all those who have sent me Birthday wishes today. Each and every one of them is appreciated.

Today has been lovely. Mum woke me up a bit before 10am with cards, presents and singing Happy Birthday. I opened up my cards first. A couple had money in, which is awesome. And they were all so pretty. I got cards off Mum & Dad; Nan; Jean & Ray; Roger & Barbara; Duncan, Tish, Josephine & Anna; Patrick; Sandra; Julie D; and Ailsa.

The presents I received:
✿ Sack Boy plushy, craft stuff for card making, beauty bits and bobs and some glittery bubble baths from Mum and Dad.
✿ £10 from Nan.
✿ £10 from Jean and Ray.
✿ Shower gel from Julie D.

I got up and got dressed and when the post came I got a card from James & Dawn and one from Dylan & Amy (and some Power Rangers). Dylan decided I would prefer a card with motorbike on to the pretty 'aunty' card Dawn had picked out. I also got two pairs of earrings from them. One pair of pink owls and one pair of pink and blue birds.

My CDs from Amazon also came. Half Birthday present, half gift to self. I had £11.01 of vouchers - £10 from surveys and £1.01 left over from last time I had some. So I used them and Mum paid the remaining £4.05. So now I'm the proud owner of Fozzy's Sin and Bones and Remains Alive/Chasing the Grail. Sin and Bones is amazing. Chasing the Grail was okay, but I much prefer Sin and Bones.

I walked over to Nan's with Lady which was lovely, and then once we got home I cleaned out the litter trays. Such an exciting life I lead!

Mum cooked a Chinese take-away (without the take-away). She bought a pack of starters from Iceland and cooked the main courses from scratch. And she baked me a lovely carrot and courgette cake. Feeling very full and very happy now.

Birthday fairies didn't manage to bring me Misha Collins or David Tennant but never mind - there's always next year!

So... what else has been going on in my life lately? Supernatural!! Yep. I finally caught the SPN like 7 years too late and went from a SPN virgin to finishing the whole thing in just over a month. I have a new obsession and it's beautiful. I can't wait for the next series!

In other news? )

I'm not sure how many people still read this, but I hope everyone is safe and well, and I'll make more of an effort to keep in touch. I love you all!

I had a lovely Birthday! Thank you to everyone who sent birthday wishes!

I got some wonderful gifts from people. From Mum and Dad I got three pairs of gorgeous earrings. I'm such an earring fiend. I also got a clear lip gloss and eyeshadow/blusher combipen, a gorgeous bunny USB flash drive thing (only you have to pull his head off to use him), a bunny air freshener, some chocolate raisins and cranberries and a blue jumper with 'The Angels have the phone box..." embroidered on it (Embroidery done by my brother's company Discofish Designs).

I also got £10 from my Nan, and £10 from Jean and Ray, and a box of Malteasers and a spa bath set from Julie. OH and a lovely story from Monkie :)

Mum made me a lovely courgette and carrot cake with pink icing and sprinkles. It tastes so good.

Only downside to the day was having to work. Thursdays are always the worse because it's the night I buff the Hall floor.

In other news, I currently obsessed with Prisoner: Cell Block H. It's one of those things that was always around when I was a kid and wheneer I watched a movie we'd taped off TV there was nearly always an episode of PCBH after it. And now, Dad and I are doing a rewatch all the way through. We're on episode 19 so far out of 690+ The acting is a bit wooden and the quality is a bit naff but I love it. And I'm totally in love with Bea Smith!

Watching PCBH also made me reread UGH so now my Sen muse is awake... Damn.

I've started work on my brother's wedding cake. He and Dawn are getting married in November and so far I have the first tier baked. I still need to bake the second tier. Then they need pricking and brushing with brandy at least once a week until late October, then marzipaned, then a few days after the marzipan has settled they need icing and decorating. I'm pretty confident the cakes will be okay because it's the same recipe I use every Christmas. I'm just a little worried about getting the icing smooth - at least with a Christmas cake you can disguise any bumps as 'snow'.

I'm worried about my uncle Ray. He's been ill for a while now and I don't know all the details but there are some polyps and lumps in his bowel and the lumps are cancerous. They want to try and remove them but they're worried about bleeding because of his blood tablets. They're going to try and remove them in an op soon and if that doesn't work he may have to have a full colostomy and stoma. Sigh. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how things go...

I really need to update more. I always say so and never do. I miss you all and really should make more of an effort to post ♥

So, I had a great birthday. It wasn't so different from every other day, but there were a few differences. Cards and presents for one. I got a stamping set and card templates, a cardigan and some magnets from my Mum and Dad, and I also had my Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes boxsets frm them as early birthday presents a few months back. and I got £10 from my Nan, and £10 from Jean & Ray and a bath gift set from Julie.

One of the magnets made me cry. It had the words 'I asked God for a true friend, so he sent me a German Shepherd' and it had a white german shepherd on it like Jack, well, not exactly like Jack because it was a short haired and Jack was long haired, but the thought was there.

Also had chow mein for my Birthday tea and a carrot cake with candles on it!

I was also allowed to use some of the money from my uncle's will to buy my Gene Hunt books - The Wit and Wisdom of Gene Hunt, The Rules of Modern Policing - 1973 Edition, and The Future of Modern Policing - 1981 Edition. I read both of the modern policing books on the day they arrived, they're good, and the notes on the pages made me laugh.

I also got BBC's State of Play at the same time. It's really good. Then agan, John Simm, David Morrissey and Phil Glenister in one place... hard not to be wonderful!

I used some of my wages to buy some Doctor Who stuff. I bought a sonic screwdriver, The Next Doctor Christmas Special, The Runaway Bride Christmas Special and Series 4. The two specials have been delivered but S4 and the screwdriver haven't arrived yet.

We started building our cattery/kennel this weekend. It's huge. We have the sides done, but can't finish it until this weekend most likely. We're going to insulate it and we have to put guttering around it. But it's getting there. We're also hopefully going to be visiting the puppy this weekend, who now has a name at last - Lady. We're going to be taking a blanket for her to get the scent of her mum and siblings on so when she comes home she has something familiar, and we'll hopefully be getting some pictures of her and her parents too.

So, on Tuesday 22nd I shall be a whole quarter of a century old. It's quite scary to think just how little I have done with my life, yet at the same time I know that I am the only one who can change it's direction, and even though I have no money and a crap job, I'm happy. My mum is always saying how can I be happy always stuck at home with no social life outside of the internet and no proper career, but I am. I love spending time with mum, and I have all my online friends and I have Gina ♥.

Speaking of Gina, her birthday gift for me came today and I had to put it on the shelf until Tuesday - It's a slow torture, I want to open it. But, at the same time I'm glad I've been forced to wait since it is probably the only gift I've got.

Mum is making me a cake, and she says I can order myself a game or something on Tuesday when her money goes into her account, I just won't have it on my actual birthday. But it's the thought that counts!

In other news, was off work Thursday and Friday with sickness, beginning to get over it now though, but my stomach is still very tender and not liking a whole lot of food.

Been having a blast in the roleplays I'm in. My baby [livejournal.com profile] shiva_dancing finally got End-Game underway and I'm really pleased with the turn out. A few people didn't join in, but a lot of the members did. So, yay for group events! I'm also having great fun at [livejournal.com profile] timeandtides, the cast is so friendly and a lot of fun! So, yay roleplay!

Also been trying to get a higher ranking for my Pin Mastery in TWEWY. I'm still at a rank D, so I stole the spare DS to mingle with, printed me off a guide and aim to get higher!

Lookit! An update!! I really need to learn to update this thing more often. I mean, I check it everyday. so I should make more of an attempt to actually... write something.

So, Saturday I took the train down to Biggleswade for Dylan's (second) 1st Birthday party. Mum and Dad travelled down on the Friday and I went down on an early train Saturday morning and came back Saturday afternoon. It was a long day. I left the house at 7:45am and got back at almost 6pm. But it was fun. James and Dawn prepared a bbq, two of her brothers and their families came and Duncan, Tish and Josephne came too.

I made Dylan a CD for his birthday. It had a bunch of kid's songs on and I made a personalised cover for it. Duncan and James seemed to know almost all the words to the CBeebies songs. I also got him some floor mat things that clip together... well Mum got them. They were Little Mermaid, but apparently Dylan loves them so it's all good. Once I wrapped it, I cut out a bunch of images of CBeebies characters and photos of Dylan and decorated the wrapping.

On Thursday, Mum baked the birthday cake and put the icing on, them we added the clay Iggle Piggle I made and I added some edible letters. It looked pretty good.

Pictures this way. )

Dad got home yesterday. It's a good job he came back on the train he did, or else he'd have probably been on a train that hit and killed a two year old boy yesterday afternoon. Makes you realise just hot lucky you are! Mum is coming home on Thursday. I can't wait. I miss her a whole lot!!

I've been pretty ill recently too. I won't go into details, but stomach ache and sickness is not fun. My ankle is also still hurting. It never seemed to heal properly after I smashed the school gate into it...

I made soup yesterday and it's delicious. It's courgette, tomato, onion, and potato - all of which were grown in the garden. I had it for my tea yesterday and today. I did Dad a fry up yesterfay and today I cooked him a salmon parcel and roasted potatoes, parsnips, carrots, pepper, baby corn, spring onion and bacon. I also had a little of the roasted stuff in my soup today.

So yeah, other than using the vibro plate, playing video games and working there isn't really much else happening. Oh yes, and it's almost my 25th birthday... I feel old lol.

So, hectic but fantastic weekend. James, Dawn and Dylan drove up Friday afternoon, dropped Dylan off at ours before James & Dawn headed to a hotel in Lincoln for the night. He is the most beautiful and wonderful baby in the world! He was so well behaved. I played with him on his playmat when I got home from work on Friday, while watching the CBeebies Bedtime hour.

Mum put him to bed and looked after him overnight. Once I got up I changed the sheets of my bed ready for James and Dawn staying, and then went downstairs and fed Dylan his dinner. I also changed his nappy for the first time ever. Luckily it was only a wee nappy, not a poop nappy.

James and Dawn came back from Lincoln with new toys for Dylan - a musical sort and shape helicoptor, a tamborine and a In The Night Garden book. Saturday was also bathnight for Dylan.

Once he was in bed, all of us adults had a Chinese takeaway and then Dad, James, Dawn and I played Singstar and Mum went to bed.

Demoted to the uncomfortable sofa for the night and awoken at 7am by a giggling baby waving at me. I fed him his breakfast and then played on the mat with him while Mum cleaned up.

Nan came over for dinner. A family meal to celebrate a joint Father's Day/James' Birthday. It's strange. My brother was born on Father's Day in 1981, and this year, his first ever Father's Day falls on his Birthday.

James, Dawn and Dylan left late afternoon after taking Nan home. We're all pretty tired. Dylan is so heavy and so energetic. He can just about crawl backwards now and he can wriggle on his tummy. He has almost got the hang of crawling forward, and can kind of walk if he is held. When he's in his walker he can scoot all over the place pretty fast, especially when the postperson comes.

And now... Pic!Spam!! This is only a tiny selection of the MANY pictures I took. Save for the first one, Dad took that.

So... what's it like to be 24? It's actually really depressing. Possibly the crappiest birthday ever. My brother's card won't be here until at least tomorrow because he got his dates mixed up, and my cousin Patrick forgot to buy one, so it's late. And I dunno whether my cousin Duncan and Uncle Roger forgot or whether the cards were delayed in the mail, but there were absoultely zero cards for me in the mail today.

I got a card off Mum & Dad, Jean & Ray, Nan, and Sandra and a few people from work - plus some chocolates from Julie and a cute notebook & chocs from Ailsa, and a £10 note off my Nan. I mean, I wasn't expecting a whole lot of stuff, because my extended family don't give stuff after the 21st birthday, but it would have been nice if they could have maybe acknowledged me a little more.

My Nan phoned, and James phoned, but no other relatives did. I dunno, maybe it's not as bad as I think, but it just seems to hurt a whole bunch.

My Mum made me a carrot cake and put some candles on it and tried to make it a special day. She's taking me into town for lunch tomorrow and we're gonna go 'round the charity shops, so that'll be fun at least.
raynebowranger: ([UGH] norman / walter)
James phoned yesterday - Dawn went to see the doctor and they are going to give her antibiotics every four hours while she's in labour, so this infection-thing she has doesn't affect baby. She's 3/5ths engaged, so baby could be coming at any time ^_^

NINE DAYS TIL MY BIRTHDAY YAY! Not really sure why I'm excited LOL - Mum says she'll get me something but it won't be until after my birthday - I'm torn between a tattoo and dollshouse stuff. Speaking of which, I need to make a start on the Wizard swap for October.

Levelled up at [livejournal.com profile] anime_lj_tcg, and should get a bunch of new cards when the backdated prizes are given out! I can't wait until the new decks are released, I'll be all over the Devil May Cry and Pokemon decks!!
