First and foremost, the good news. We picked up Lady on Saturday. She pooped in the car like two minutes after we started the journey home, so we had to stop and clean that up, then again when we were almost home, so as soon as she had examined the front lawn, and her bed area, the next step was to plonk her in the sink and wash her feet and tummy.

She's absolutely beautiful. I'll upload the pictures once I have a chance to get them off of the camera. She's settling in really well. She was very clingy when we first got her home, the only place she would settle was on your chest and neck, but she's quite happy to lay near you and sleep now. The only time she gets upset is bedtime because until she's housetrained she has to sleep in the kitchen and the breeder had had her sleeping in her bedroom by the fire.

The cats are probably moving into their cattery today. They went in it yesterday for an hour or so and meowed a lot, but I'm sure once they get in with their own beds and their own litter trays and get used to it, they'll be fine.

Watched the first episode of Single Father last night. It was really good. David Tennant is just an amazing actor. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series. I finished watching the Doctor Who Series 4 boxset on Friday, and once again Journey's End had me sobbing. Donna's fate is just so heartbreakingly sad. Every time I watch it I cry.

The bad news. My desktop computer has died. I think it's the hard drive, but until Dad looks at it for me, I'm not really sure. I have the laptop out to tide me over, but it's just so slow. So, still about just slower than usual!

So, I had a great birthday. It wasn't so different from every other day, but there were a few differences. Cards and presents for one. I got a stamping set and card templates, a cardigan and some magnets from my Mum and Dad, and I also had my Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes boxsets frm them as early birthday presents a few months back. and I got £10 from my Nan, and £10 from Jean & Ray and a bath gift set from Julie.

One of the magnets made me cry. It had the words 'I asked God for a true friend, so he sent me a German Shepherd' and it had a white german shepherd on it like Jack, well, not exactly like Jack because it was a short haired and Jack was long haired, but the thought was there.

Also had chow mein for my Birthday tea and a carrot cake with candles on it!

I was also allowed to use some of the money from my uncle's will to buy my Gene Hunt books - The Wit and Wisdom of Gene Hunt, The Rules of Modern Policing - 1973 Edition, and The Future of Modern Policing - 1981 Edition. I read both of the modern policing books on the day they arrived, they're good, and the notes on the pages made me laugh.

I also got BBC's State of Play at the same time. It's really good. Then agan, John Simm, David Morrissey and Phil Glenister in one place... hard not to be wonderful!

I used some of my wages to buy some Doctor Who stuff. I bought a sonic screwdriver, The Next Doctor Christmas Special, The Runaway Bride Christmas Special and Series 4. The two specials have been delivered but S4 and the screwdriver haven't arrived yet.

We started building our cattery/kennel this weekend. It's huge. We have the sides done, but can't finish it until this weekend most likely. We're going to insulate it and we have to put guttering around it. But it's getting there. We're also hopefully going to be visiting the puppy this weekend, who now has a name at last - Lady. We're going to be taking a blanket for her to get the scent of her mum and siblings on so when she comes home she has something familiar, and we'll hopefully be getting some pictures of her and her parents too.

It’s been a long time since I wrote a proper update, so I’m going to try and mention everything that’s been going on.

Firstly HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY RIRI and HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY T.

It’s been nine and a half weeks since Jack died and it’s still really hard to deal with. It’s also the longest we’ve ever gone without a dog in the house. We managed about a week after Shelley died before we got Mistie, and then we had Queenie and Libby while we had Mistie, so we had at least one dog around until Libby died, and then we managed a month before we went out and got Jack. It’s really weird being in a dogless house. I don’t like it. We’ll be getting a puppy as soon as my mum gets her share of money from my uncle’s will.

I had a photo book done for Jack. I was offered a free 20 page book with shutterfly.com for signing up to some familylink thing (which I think I signed up for through FB? I have no idea) but anyway, they offered me a free book (only P&P to pay) so I got one done for Jack. It’s really nice, apart from my stupid error which neither Mum or I picked up on during proofreading.

I also got his medical records from the vets. They thought I was kinda weird for asking for them and they were quite suspicious too, since they only usually send them to other practises if owners change vets. I was just curious. It was quite an interesting read.

The major thing that’s been going on lately if my health. It’s been deteriorating quite badly, so during the last school holiday my Mum dragged me to the doctor’s to try and find out what’s going on with me. He guessed pretty instantly that it’s mostly down to my weight (which is what I suspected before I even went), but instead of just telling me to lose weight and sending me on my way, he was really good about things and talked things through with me.

He sent me for a whole bunch of blood tests. My cholesterol is amazing. He was really shocked by it – 3.8 I think he said. My potassium levels are good. My kidney functions are okay, but my liver is suffering. I also have extreme levels of male hormone. He thinks my thyroid is to blame and he’s also sending me for scans of my ovaries since I may have PCOS.

Both things combined are a very good reason why I can’t seem to shift weight despite a great diet. I know I don’t do enough exercise, but I’ve been working on increasing that with gardening more and helping around the house more. Exercise is kinda catch 22 though, since because I am so big it hurts to exercise, but by not exercising I become bigger and thus the cycle continues.

We also discussed the possibility of surgery. It’d take a lot of tests and fussing about since the NHS don’t like doing the operation unless they have to because it’s expensive; but because my BMI is over 50 there’s a good chance I can get surgery eventually.

So what else has been going on? Well… I fell in love with Heavy Rain. It’s just amazing. Haven’t played video games in a few weeks though, so I totally need to get back into them. FFXIII won’t finish itself.

All my television shows are ending. It’s pretty sad. I don’t know what I’ll watch soon. The last ever Ashes to Ashes is on Friday and the last ever Lost is next Friday. The Final of Over The Rainbow is on Saturday and the current series of Shameless is finished (I think).

And last, but not least, I have a new phone. It’s an Alcatel OT-708. It’s shiny. Still getting used to it, but my Samsung died. It got a white screen of death which is apparently really common with them and they can be fixed but they usually do the same thing within a few months, so it’s going in Dylan’s toybox instead. So, my new number is +447971086169. So if you want, leave your numbers here so I can update my contacts? Comments are screened!

I made TWEWY icons! They're over THIS way if anyone's interested, but they do contain spoilers... well as much of a spoiler as a 100x100px box can.

This game owns my soul right now!

Court Records got a full size copy of the Fall Orchestra CD picture and dear God it is a million times more sexy than the small teaser... I think I died and went to Heaven!! CLICKCLICKCLICK

James phoned yesterday - Dawn went to see the doctor and they are going to give her antibiotics every four hours while she's in labour, so this infection-thing she has doesn't affect baby. She's 3/5ths engaged, so baby could be coming at any time ^_^

NINE DAYS TIL MY BIRTHDAY YAY! Not really sure why I'm excited LOL - Mum says she'll get me something but it won't be until after my birthday - I'm torn between a tattoo and dollshouse stuff. Speaking of which, I need to make a start on the Wizard swap for October.

Levelled up at [livejournal.com profile] anime_lj_tcg, and should get a bunch of new cards when the backdated prizes are given out! I can't wait until the new decks are released, I'll be all over the Devil May Cry and Pokemon decks!!

WAH! Only four cards away from levelling up at [livejournal.com profile] anime_lj_tcg So exciting!! This game is consuming my free time, it's so much fun!!

I'm feeling a little better today, but still sick. I can't stop coughing, but my body isn't hurting as much, which is good! My course of antibiotics finishes tomorrow, so I may phone up on Monday for more, depending on how I feel.

I don't really have that much to update about, nothing has really been going on. Went back to work on Wednesday, already tired of it LOL.

Baby should be arriving into the world soon, quite excited about that. I can't wait to meet hims (or her) :D
